I was born beneath the ancient boughs of the Whispering Willows, where the song of leaves is as old as memory. From my earliest days I walked among roots and blossoms, learning the secrets of herb and flower. The earth spoke to me in scents and colors, and I became an herbalist, tending wounds, brewing draughts, and keeping the old knowledge of the forest. To my people, I was a keeper of healing, content with the rhythm of growth and the long turning of years.
Yet one day a mortal came among us — a man named Lucifer, weary of his own kind but steadfast in spirit. At first I watched him from afar, for seldom do Elves welcome the Secondborn into our hidden ways. But he came not as a warrior nor a beggar, but as a farmer, with seed in hand and patience in his heart. I saw how he bent his back to the soil, how he learned the names of our herbs, and how he honored the forest rather than seeking to conquer it.
He told me his name, and though others found it strange, I saw no shadow in it. Lightbearer, he called himself, and indeed a light seemed to follow him — not the eternal flame of the Eldar, but the warm, flickering fire of mortal life. I found myself drawn to that fire, for it burned with urgency and devotion, kindled anew each dawn. In his songs and in his hands, there was a beauty different from ours, and I came to love him.
I know well the peril of such love, for my people endure while his will pass beyond the circles of the world. Yet I chose him, as he chose me. Now I walk not only as an herbalist of the Willows, but as his companion in field and hearth. Together we bring forth healing and harvest, and though sorrow may come in time, I would not trade one mortal lifetime with Lucifer for all the ages of solitude..”
