- Muse Harbour:., Written Word A place for writers to come and be inspired. Somewhere to actually use SL to write. Publishers will be coming soon with guidelines and submissions opportunities. No charge for anything here in return for your company and participation.

- Waterstage A lovely place to join in with open mics and share your writing. On Wednesdays at 2pm SLT it's the venue for the very popular Writers' Circle where writers in all forms read out, sit back and listen, or ask for their writing to be read. It's in voice but there are also notecards. You can ask for your writing to be published on our website www.writtenword.org.uk on the Writers' Circle page..
- Alice Barge Regulars at the Written Word can display their work in progress on The Alice Barge. Here you can place a poster to hand out excerpts and to display your mounting wordcount, or read the work of others.
- Caravans 4 U Sit and write together (we promise not to disturb) in these drovers' caravans with desks and writing animations. It helped me write most of my novel. Maybe it can help you....
- Red Sky Club and Meet an Author The Red Sky Club in the air above the Written Word is the venue for the Meet an Author show on alternate Sundays at 2pm SLT. Authors can also use it as a clubhouse and it's the HQ of the SLociety of Authors. Everyone can use it to dance and canoodle on the poseballs so come along and enjoy.
- Bookmarket Our bookshop stocked with books by published authors active on SL, and nearby you'll find our market stalls where writers can ask to have their books displayed, published or unpublished.
- West Hill Cafe Clifftop cafe where writers and readers sit around to chat about books, writing or anything. Wander down the steps to find communal caravans to write together, and publishers have free stores here where you can find ways to submit your manuscripts. Let's get together.
- George Orwell House George Orwell House and the adjoining Poetry Society Stanza Oast House are our lovely buildings for workshops, reading groups and discussions. The Oast House is the HQ for the Poetry Society SL Stanza, the first virtual group authorised by the Poetry Society in the UK. In it you can find books by published poets active on SL and links to useful online resources.
