Your perception of me: I hope you shape it by time spent observing me and not what others say about me. I've been here since Autumn 2006. I'll soon witness my 19th Halloween. SL has its highs. Halloween here is always amazing. But the lows can make you feel like some kid whose jack-o'-lantern that's been filched from the porch and smashed in the street. Longtime friends, the arts, the music: I keep coming back for that.
Perceptions: They can entrap us. Plato's Allegory of the Cave, The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, and David Henry Hwang's M. Butterfly offer some literary insights. I've been the happiest with people who challenge my perceptions while living out what truly being free is about here in SL. They can do that without bruising any souls, their own included.
