A new England Shipyard used to have the following words engraved in a granite plaque by it's main entrance.
"We build good ships,
at a profit when we can,
at a loss when we must,
but always good ships"
So naturally when the shipyard was taken over by a modern conglomrate, one of the first acts of the new management was to order the plaque removed
