I understood in an instant that this world is a dark place and hard, that being happy requires the strength and courage to refuse to be intimated by anyone and anything. Then I wept but did not sob. I stood there until the tears stopped flowing and the rain washed the salt from my face. Knowing this is life and we must live it to its fullness.
Let no one take what you are not willing to give, let no one take your happiness. Smiles are contagious. We all deserve happiness find yours and share it.
